Slayyyter Drops New Single “Hey Boyyy” Ahead of December Album

Slayyyter has released “Hey Boyyy,” a vibrant new single from her highly anticipated second album of 2026, Wor$t Man in America. The track arrives alongside a self-directed music video that follows the singer through neon-lit streets of Hollywood and Paris, where she drags a golden skeleton as her unconventional love interest. The album, set for release on December 4, marks another bold step in Slayyyter’s rapid rise as a defining voice in modern pop.

The single continues Slayyyter’s signature blend of hyperpop, blog-house, and retro-inspired synths. Lyrics like “I obsess, won’t confess to him / The way I feel feels like stalking” capture the track’s mix of playful infatuation and darker undertones. The video amplifies this contrast, pairing glossy, cinematic visuals with surreal humor—perfect for a song that toggles between euphoric hooks and distorted, high-energy drops.

A Year of Breakthroughs and Challenges

2026 has been a landmark year for the Missouri-born artist. Her previous album, Wor$t Girl in America, became a critical and commercial hit, earning praise for its chaotic energy and vivid storytelling. The project’s success was underscored by a sold-out show at New York’s Madison Square Garden, slated for June 21, 2027—a milestone for an artist who only debuted in 2021 with Troubled Paradise.

However, the year hasn’t been without setbacks. In October, Slayyyter canceled the European and UK legs of her Wor$t Girl in the World Tour after being diagnosed with laryngitis and vocal cord tears. Doctors ordered full vocal rest, delaying her return to the stage until February 2027, when she’s scheduled to perform in Sydney. Fans can still look forward to her Madison Square Garden show, which sold out within hours of going on sale.

Wor$t Man in America*: A “Brother” Album with Fresh Energy

Slayyyter has described Wor$t Man in America as an “inverse” or “brother” album to Wor$t Girl in America, designed to extend the universe she created earlier this year. The project features nine tracks, including previously released singles: - “Brand New Chanel$” (a reimagining of Wor$t Girl’s “Beat Up Chanel$”) - “Crank 2” (a sequel to “Crank”) - “I Think He’s Got a Girl”

In interviews, Slayyyter has emphasized that this album feels more personal, reflecting her growth as an artist. “I want to live here for a little longer, so I’m kind of making an inverse album, if you will,” she told Rolling Stone. “I just want the core of everything to feel like me, because it finally feels that.”

Visual Storytelling and Midwest Roots

Slayyyter’s music is as much about visuals as it is about sound. The Wor$t Girl in America era was defined by surreal, dreamlike imagery—think bunnies, neon lights, and glitchy aesthetics—inspired by her Midwest upbringing. In a Paste interview, she explained how her mother’s love for bunnies became a recurring motif, “painting a visual portrait of the Midwest.” The “Hey Boyyy” video continues this tradition, blending high fashion with playful absurdity.

What’s Next for Slayyyter?

With Wor$t Man in America just weeks away, fans can expect more singles and possibly another music video before the album’s release. After her vocal recovery, Slayyyter will resume touring, starting with her Sydney show in February 2027, followed by her triumphant return to the US for the Madison Square Garden performance.

For now, “Hey Boyyy” offers a tantalizing glimpse into what’s next for an artist who continues to push pop’s boundaries—one infectious, chaotic single at a time.
