Factory Floor Return With First Album in a Decade, One Trip

UK electronic trio Factory Floor release 'One Trip' on November 27, their first album in 10 years. The band will tour the UK in April 2027, starting with a London show in December.

Factory Floor, the influential UK electronic group, have announced their first album in a decade, One Trip. The record arrives digitally on November 27, with a vinyl release following on December 4. Fans can already stream the double single Continuation / One Trip, offering a glimpse into the band’s evolved sound—balancing euphoric textures and dark, intense rhythms.

The album marks a significant return for Factory Floor, who last released 25 25 in 2016. Originally a trio, the band now features founding members Nik Colk Void (modular synth, vocals) and Gabe Gurnsey (drums, percussion, electronics), alongside new percussionist Joe Ward. Their reunion was sparked by a 2024 performance at MUTEK Festival in Montreal, which reignited their creative energy. In a statement, the band reflected on the experience: "We felt an appetite to work in a space where artists could connect emotionally and physically, both in the studio and on a live stage."

A Decade in the Making

Factory Floor emerged in the early 2010s with their self-titled debut on DFA Records, earning acclaim for their raw, noise-infused electronic sound. Over the years, they’ve explored the boundaries of techno, minimalism, and post-industrial rhythms, becoming known for their uncompromising live performances. After the departure of original member Dominic Butler, the band continued as a duo before expanding back to a trio with Ward’s addition.

One Trip reflects this evolution, blending dreamy, expansive tracks like Continuation with darker, dancefloor-driven cuts such as One Trip. The album’s tracklist includes: - Continuation - Big Brain - DruuuuM - One Trip - Buzz Saw - Between You - One Two One - Obsessed - Souuuu:D - Greedy

Live Return and Tour Plans

Factory Floor will preview One Trip live at London’s Barbican on December 5, supporting fellow electronic act Squid. The show offers fans a first taste of their new material before a full UK tour in April 2027. For a band that thrives on the visceral energy of live performance, these dates are a chance to reconnect with audiences after years of solo projects.

Why It Matters

For fans of experimental electronic music, Factory Floor’s return is a rare opportunity to experience a band that has consistently pushed boundaries. Their sound—equal parts hypnotic and abrasive—has influenced a generation of artists, and One Trip promises to build on that legacy. Whether through the album’s immersive studio production or their dynamic live shows, the trio is set to redefine their place in the electronic music landscape.

Tickets for the Barbican show and pre-orders for One Trip are available now via Phantasy Sound.
